A Final Farewell to Vittorio Arrigoni

Vittorio Arrigoni, a Founding Member of HD Forum Italia and a prominent figure in the Italian and international television production industry, passed away on May 13.

Arrigoni played a key role in the development of Rai’s capture, production, and distribution technologies, serving as Deputy Director of Production with responsibility for the Engineering Division. His professional approach was always marked by a personal style oriented towards simplification and the pursuit of practical solutions. His remarkable innovative capabilities and proven expertise in managing advanced production models were instrumental to the success of all major events broadcast by the Italian public broadcaster, which, also thanks to his contribution, has been able to establish itself as a modern operator and remain competitive in an increasingly complex market.

A highlight of his distinguished career was his appointment as Chief Operating Officer for the Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games. From 2006 to 2015, he represented IDS Multimedia, where he served as General Manager, within HD Forum Italia, the association he helped found, actively supported, and ultimately joined as an Honorary Member. During the early years of HD Forum Italia’s development, Arrigoni played a leading role in expanding the participation of key industry stakeholders to strengthen the association’s representativeness, generously sharing his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the media market.

President Tonio Di Stefano, Secretary General Benito Manlio Mari, and all members of the HDFI Board extend their heartfelt condolences to his family.
