HDFI TALKS ABOUT INNOVATION: introduction to OTT
First webinar scheduled with important insights between protocols, origins, and success of OTT.
The first of three seminars signed by HD Forum Italia and aimed at discovering the meaning of OTT (Over the Top) in all its technical facets, the event entitled “HDFI Talks about Innovation: introduction to OTT,” thanks to the interventions of the experts of the most authoritative Italian Forum in the sector, recounted the origins, keys to success, protocols and founding elements of OTT, with in-depth studies dedicated to the protection and distribution of content.
A first appointment underscored by the words of HDFI President Benito Manlio Mari: “We celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Association also through this initiative. A path, ours, made hand in hand with the members, in parallel with the evolution of Italian TV. Since 2006 we have had important representatives who have been able to give voice to the entire supply chain, in a progression that today sees us as the most important trade association. From the world of broadcasters to media companies to the industry to institutions, passing through system integrators and the panorama of connection providers: all our actors cooperate here with the common goal of maturation and development, harmonization of international standards.”
As part of the webinar (HERE is the recording), conducted by Giovanni Venuti of HDFI, which shed light on the roots of OTT, also the intervention of Diego Gibellino (TIM) on the topic of ABR protocols, and Stefano Bossi of Mediaset on the elements of OTT. Finally, with Roberto Borroni of Nagra, space was given to the introduction to the topic of OTT Content Protection, while with Daniele Rascio (Rai) focus on OTT Content distribution.
